Adekvad representative reports search of former Yerevan office

Armenian investigators searched the former Yerevan office of the opposition group Adekvad, representative Marine Manucharyan said on October 14. The search followed the detention of the group’s leader, Artur Danielyan.

Manucharyan said investigators from the Yerevan division of the Investigative Committee arrived with police. She disputed earlier reports that the National Security Service conducted the search. According to her account, officers sought devices used to publish social media posts.

A court ordered Danielyan held for two months on October 7. RIA Novosti reported allegations of hooliganism and threats or publication of defamatory information about a judge, prosecutor or investigator, linked to Facebook posts. The detention does not establish guilt.

Manucharyan said Adekvad closed the office in 2023 and gave the premises to a family from Nagorno-Karabakh for accommodation. She said the property had been unoccupied since mid-2025. She criticised the investigators’ actions and described the proceedings as absurd.
