Murmansk fishing port to handle Russian Crab shipments to Asia

Murmansk Sea Fishing Port will provide Russian Crab with berths and rail logistics for shipments to Russia’s Far East and onward to Asia. Vedomosti North-West reported the arrangement on October 14, citing port director Andrei Borodin.

The port will receive crab-fishing vessels and arrange refrigerated-container shipments by rail. The service has operated at the port since 2024, and the new arrangement will use that infrastructure for Russian Crab’s products.

Construction of a logistics complex for the company began in the port’s Southern Cargo District in August 2026. Its first phase includes a frozen-product storage terminal, a refrigerated-container area and pools for holding live crab. The complex will cover more than 3,100 square metres.

Borodin said the complex was intended to shorten delivery times for live and frozen crab to Asia via the Far East. The port is providing the land and connecting the new facilities to its existing infrastructure.
