YSRCP seeks updated rolls for Andhra Pradesh local elections

YSR Congress Party official Lella Appi Reddy has asked for Andhra Pradesh’s forthcoming local election rolls to include voters registered up to July 15, 2026.
The party’s state general secretary wrote to State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha. Appi Reddy said the planned basis for the polls was the electoral roll as it stood on February 5, 2026.
He argued that this would exclude eligible citizens who completed registration after that date and before July 15. According to his representation, the Special Intensive Revision began in the state on July 15, after which voter registration was frozen.
Appi Reddy wants the commission to include registrations made by July 15 and all valid supplementary entries. He also sought uniform directions for the officials preparing the local polls.
He urged the commission to publish the rolls well before voting so that residents have time to find their names and report any omissions. The appeal asks the authorities to preserve the voting rights of everyone who completed enrolment during the stated period.
