Belousov inspects Russian test base in Kyrgyzstan

Russian Defence Minister Andrey Belousov inspected a test base at Lake Issyk-Kul during a working visit to Kyrgyzstan on October 14, the Defence Ministry said.
Belousov inspected facilities and reviewed the condition of the base's boats and vessels. The ministry said they were used for testing.
The base commander reported that its work included serial testing of anti-submarine weapons for the Russian Navy. Another area involves anti-torpedo protection systems for surface ships and submarines.
The Defence Ministry said Issyk-Kul, which remains ice-free throughout the year, was used to test naval weapons and diving equipment. The lake's water composition is similar to seawater.
After the inspection, Belousov held a meeting with commanders. He heard reports on current and future tasks, the progress of testing and infrastructure development.
