Bank of Korea governor to join financial meetings in Bangkok
Bank of Korea Governor Shin Hyun-song will travel to Bangkok this week for meetings involving G20 financial leaders, the IMF and the World Bank, the central bank said Monday.
At the G20 gathering of finance ministers and central bank governors, participants will examine global economic conditions, growth and international imbalances, according to the Bank of Korea's announcement.
The International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group meetings will focus on the economic outlook and financial stability. The institutions are holding their annual meetings in the Thai capital.
Shin also plans separate discussions with senior officials from the U.S. Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank and other major central banks. Those talks will provide an opportunity to exchange views on recent international developments.
He is scheduled to join CNN's Global Perspectives event alongside World Trade Organization Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Bank of America international president Bernard Mensah.
