Cam Talbot sets NHL record with victory for his ninth team

Cam Talbot has become the first NHL goalie to win a regular-season game for nine different teams. He set the record in his winning Columbus Blue Jackets debut, a 3-2 shootout victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The game took place on October 9. The 39-year-old Canadian stopped 20 of 22 shots in regulation and overtime and allowed no goals in the shootout. A separate Associated Press report confirms the record and the game's result.
Before joining Columbus, Talbot had recorded wins for the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames, Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators, Los Angeles Kings and Detroit Red Wings. The Blue Jackets became the ninth franchise on that list.
According to Sport-Express, the victory brought Talbot's regular-season totals to 279 wins in 568 appearances. The record concerns the number of teams for which a goalie has won, rather than the overall number of victories in a career.
