Prosecutors confirm authorised flight before Sretensk emergency landing

The light aircraft that made an emergency landing in Sretensk on October 10 was conducting an authorised flight, Eastern Siberian transport prosecutors told RIA Novosti.
Prosecutors specified the route as Sretensk–Mogocha–Chirok in Blagoveshchensk. A subsequent statement from the agency said the crew was repositioning the aircraft.
Preliminary information points to an engine failure during takeoff. Transport investigators opened an inquiry into possible violations of air transport operating rules. The final cause has not been established.
The pilot and an aircraft technician were on board. Both were taken to hospital for medical attention after the emergency landing.
Governor Aleksandr Osipov said both had been discharged home in satisfactory condition and would continue outpatient treatment. Confirmation that the flight was authorised is not a final finding on the cause of the incident.
