Three people were taken to hospital after a collision on the Kamaevka–Asino–Pervomayskoye highway. The bear was killed.
A Ford Mondeo struck a bear that had entered the road on the evening of Oct. 5, at the ninth kilometer of the Kamaevka–Asino–Pervomayskoye highway in Russia’s Tomsk region, the regional Interior Ministry department said.
The car left the road, overturned and came to rest in a ditch. A 28-year-old man was driving. A 19-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were also in the vehicle. All three were hospitalized. The bear died.
Tomsk region authorities previously introduced a heightened-readiness regime over bears approaching populated areas. Mass events are also prohibited outside settlements and on their outskirts.
