A Ford Mondeo left the road and overturned after the crash on the Kamaevka–Asino–Pervomayskoye highway.
Three people were taken to hospital after a Ford Mondeo collided with a bear in Russia’s Tomsk region. The regional Interior Ministry said the crash happened at about 9 p.m. local time on Oct. 5 on the ninth kilometre of the Kamaevka–Asino–Pervomayskoye road.
A 28-year-old man was driving. After the impact, the car left the road, entered a ditch and overturned. The passengers were a 19-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man. All three occupants were injured and hospitalised.
RBC said the incident came amid more frequent bear encounters with people. In September, two people died after an attack in Kolpashevo district. Regional authorities have restricted mass events, excursions and tourist gatherings in forests until at least Nov. 1.
Russia’s Natural Resources Ministry estimates the brown bear population at about 308,000 in 2026, more than twice the 1990 figure. Kommersant also reported that three people were hospitalised after the collision in Tomsk region.
