A Russian drone attacked a civilian ship flying the Tanzanian flag and heading toward a Ukrainian port, killing the captain and injuring three other crew members, Ukraine's Ministry of Community and Territorial Development said. The ministry said Russia systematically attacks Ukrainian ports, port infrastructure and civilian merchant ships, creating a threat to international navigation in the Black Sea.
In Kyiv, overnight raids injured 18 people, including two children, and hit residential buildings, schools, administrative buildings, offices, gas stations, warehouses, cars and the railway, local institutions said. The Kyiv military administration had issued a red alert and urged the population to reach shelters because of a threat of missile attacks.
In central Russia, an oil refinery was damaged in the Yaroslavl region during a drone attack, Governor Mikhail Yevrayev said. He said a massive enemy drone attack was repelled and 65 drones were shot down, with no deaths or injuries reported. The refinery was damaged and firefighting operations were under way. Falling drone fragments also shattered windows in several apartment buildings and damaged some cars. No drone alarm was in force in the region at the time.
