The exhibition, organised by ASI’s inscription division, runs for three days and aims to raise public awareness of Tamil Nadu’s early written heritage.
During the inauguration, Principal Bhanumathi cut the ribbon while ASI officials, including the head of the inscription division, Yesu Babu, and other senior staff, briefed attendees on the significance of the displayed material.
The showcase features a series of large banners reproducing inscriptions recovered from various sites across Tamil Nadu, illustrating aspects of ancient Tamil culture, history and religion.
ASI officials said the exhibition is part of a broader outreach effort to bring scholarly findings to a wider audience and to foster appreciation for the region’s archaeological legacy.
