The deadline applies only to villages and other non‑corporation areas of the district; shops inside Coimbatore city limits are excluded.
Prospective licence holders must file their applications through e‑Seva centres using the Single Window System, a digital platform that consolidates all required documents and fees.
To qualify, applicants need to provide a site plan, proof of ownership or tenancy, and the current financial year’s property‑tax receipt. Tenants must also attach the landlord’s tax receipt and a consent letter stamped on a ₹20 paper.
A non‑refundable licence fee of ₹700, along with copies of PAN, Aadhaar and the family or smart card, must accompany the submission.
The regulations stipulate that temporary firecracker outlets be located on the ground floor, occupy between 9 and 25 square metres, and feature two exits, one of which must serve as an emergency exit.
Additional location restrictions require the shop to be at least 50 metres away from schools, hospitals, public infrastructure and any inflammable material, and a minimum of three metres from any other temporary firecracker shop.
The rules also forbid setting up such outlets in wedding halls, auditoriums or community halls, aiming to reduce fire hazards during the festive season.
Licences will be issued to applicants who meet all criteria starting November 1, allowing them to operate legally during the upcoming celebrations.
