Gauri Kashyap, who works in Saket, filed a 22‑page complaint with the Hauz Khas police on September 15, alleging that after leaving work around midnight on September 11 she was harassed by two men in their twenties who rode alongside her scooter, made teasing remarks and then pushed the vehicle with their motorcycle.
Kashyap says she lost control, skidded for about 100‑150 metres on a gravel‑covered stretch, and fell, sustaining deep cuts, extensive bleeding and loss of skin in several places. She was assisted by bystanders, taken to Max Hospital in Saket, and later transferred to Medanta Hospital in Noida for further treatment, where doctors recommended plastic‑surgery.
The complaint includes hospital bills, prescriptions, medical reports and photographs of the injuries. Kashyap has since travelled to Kanpur for a second medical opinion and continues to experience pain and distress.
Police records show a PCR call reporting a road accident was received at the Hauz Khas police station around 1 a.m. on the night of September 11‑12. Officers arrived at the reported spot but found no one, learning that the victim had already been taken to Max Hospital and had later left Delhi for treatment.
Investigators examined CCTV footage from nearby areas but said the incident could not be identified in the available recordings. On September 14, Kashyap’s cousin visited the police station and reviewed the same footage without being able to spot the woman or the alleged assailants.
The FIR has been registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and police say they are continuing efforts to verify the allegations, obtain additional CCTV footage from Hauz Khas, Hauz Khas Metro Station, Panchsheel Metro Station and surrounding roads, and identify the two men.
The case comes days after a separate incident in which a woman biker was chased and hit by a car on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road, an episode that was captured on video and went viral, highlighting concerns about the safety of women commuters in the National Capital Region.
