The integration, effective immediately, brings HBO Max – which has been available in Germany since January 2026 – into the telco’s MagentaTV ecosystem, allowing customers to subscribe directly through the platform.
MagentaTV users can choose from six booking options, ranging from month‑to‑month plans to 12‑month commitments. Telekom says an annual subscription will be priced lower than the equivalent monthly rate, reinforcing its strategy of aggregating premium streaming services on a single interface.
The move is part of a broader effort to combine traditional broadcast channels with on‑demand content. MagentaTV currently offers up to 180 TV channels, more than 160 of them in high‑definition, and now adds HBO Max’s catalogue of flagship franchises such as *Game of Thrones*, *House of the Dragon*, *The White Lotus* and the upcoming *Dune: Prophecy*.
Warner Bros. Discovery also highlighted its German original *4 Blocks ZERO*, a prequel to the popular crime drama *4 Blocks*, slated to premiere on 25 September 2026, and an upcoming Harry Potter series expected around Christmas.
“With HBO Max, we are bringing a real heavyweight to MagentaTV,” said Arnim Butzen, Head of TV at Deutsche Telekom. “Few other streaming services stand for so many exceptional stories, major brands and series that generate conversation around the world. We want to offer our customers the best content in one place – simply, conveniently and, as usual, at very attractive prices.”
Matthias Heinze, SVP Commercial for Warner Bros. Discovery GSA, added: “We are delighted to make HBO Max available to even more customers together with MagentaTV. This partnership brings together two things that are a natural fit: the reach and convenient user experience of MagentaTV and an exceptional premium entertainment offering featuring major stories, iconic brands and exclusive highlights – from *4 Blocks ZERO* to Harry Potter.”
The addition follows other recent moves by Telekom to broaden its content portfolio, including a five‑year renewal of its streaming partnership with RTL Deutschland that bundles RTL+ Premium into most MagentaTV plans, and a planned launch of free‑ad‑supported FAST channels ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
