The performance, staged at 6:30 p.m., was curated by Gujarati folk artist, humorist and educator Sai Ram Dave, who blended storytelling, philosophy and devotion to bring the mythic figure of Radha to contemporary audiences.
Orenda Group’s co‑promoter, chartered accountant‑turned‑entrepreneur Tarun Shah, said the concept originated from a family visit to Vraj in November 2024, when he explored Raval village, a traditional birthplace of ‘Radha Rani’. Shah explained, “While we grew up knowing Krishna, many of us know little about Radha beyond the familiar love story. Her story carries layers of devotion, surrender, longing and philosophy that deserve deeper exploration.”
Dave added that the event does not aim to offer a single interpretation of Radha, but rather to invite audiences “into the different emotional and philosophical dimensions associated with her story.”
The show is part of Oranda Group’s broader strategy to turn Indian cultural narratives into original intellectual properties that can be adapted across media formats. The holding platform currently manages a multi‑sector fund of roughly $120 million and, earlier this month at the Venice Film Festival, announced a proposed INR 100 crore Orenda Media Growth Fund, targeting original IP and live‑event assets. Registration of the fund with the Securities and Exchange Board of India is pending.
If successful, the initiative could see Radha’s story expanded into future productions such as films, digital series or touring performances, illustrating the group’s ambition to commercialise timeless Indian tales for modern audiences while preserving their cultural depth.
