The university’s Vice‑Chancellor S. Vidyashankar confirmed that the three educationists will receive the honoris causa degrees in a ceremony presided over by the Governor, who also serves as the university’s chancellor.
Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara will attend as the chief guest, while Basavaraj Rayaraddy, the state’s Minister for Higher Education, is also slated to be present.
The convocation will see a total of 74,763 undergraduate students and 329 PhD scholars graduate, encompassing 74,009 BE/BTech degrees, 725 BArch, 12 BPlanning and 17 BSc qualifications.
A record 45 students will be awarded 94 gold medals: 38 VTU Gold Medals, 49 Endowment Gold Medals (including cash prizes), and seven additional Endowment Gold Medals.
Top medalists include H.M. Vishwanath of Jain Institute of Technology, Davangere, who secured 12 gold medals, and Sakshi S. Hadalge of VSM Somashekar R. Kothiwale Technical College, Nipani, with eight medals.
Chinmayi M. Kashyap (CMR Institute of Technology, Bengaluru) and B.M. Dhanyashree (JNN College of Engineering, Shivamogga) share third place with seven medals each, while A.C. Kavina of Coorg Institute of Technology earned six.
Among institutions, Bengaluru Institute of Technology topped the medal tally with 29 medals, followed by Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology (16), RNS Institute of Technology, Bengaluru (13), and both CMR Institute of Technology and Maharaja Institute of Technology (11 each).
The press conference was attended by Registrars Prasad B. Rampure and U.J. Ujjwal, underscoring the administrative support for the large‑scale graduation ceremony.
