Organisers Devati Mallick and Gargi Kothari expect 300 to 350 visitors at the gathering, which they describe as a curated event rather than a mass-market festival. Guests will be able to sample as many as 100 wines, including bottles from Indian producers and importers representing France, Spain, Italy and South Africa.
The programme combines tastings with artisanal cheeses, chocolates and a Grand Cru lounge offering wines by the glass and dinner. A Wine and Vinyl set will feature local musicians Sunil Hubli and Arjun Hora.
The Bengaluru edition is the festival’s third season. The organisers say they plan to take it to six more cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Goa and Pune—in the coming months. This year’s line-up also includes a zero-proof spirits stall and a selection of natural wines.
