Queensland police have charged a 28-year-old father with the murder of his three-month-old boy. The child was taken to an Ipswich hospital on October 1 with significant internal injuries and later transferred to a Brisbane hospital, where he died on Tuesday afternoon.
Detectives from the Ipswich child protection investigation unit arrested the man at an Ipswich property overnight, with assistance from the child trauma unit, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. He faces one count of murder in a domestic-violence context involving a child.
The man was due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Police said the investigation was continuing. The charge is an allegation and does not establish guilt.
