Four remanded in custody over killing of young woman in Sudogda

A court in Sudogda remanded four people accused of killing a 21-year-old woman in custody, the Vladimir regional Investigative Committee said on Oct. 13. The investigation continues.
The accused include the victim’s 20-year-old acquaintance, her 39-year-old mother, her 17-year-old sister and a 20-year-old man.
Investigators say the woman was killed after visiting an apartment on Proletarskaya Street on Oct. 6. They describe jealousy as the suspected motive. That account is the prosecution’s version, rather than a verdict.
According to investigators, the accused hid the victim’s body, sold her belongings and used the proceeds to leave the region. Police detained them in the Belgorod and Yaroslavl regions.
The new court decision concerns custody during the investigation. It follows the earlier arrests and does not establish guilt.
