Houthis claim attacks on Abha airport and Saudi air base

On October 7, Ansar Allah said it used ballistic missiles and drones; the reported strike on Abha airport has not been independently confirmed.

On October 7, Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement, known as the Houthis, said it attacked Abha airport and an air base in Khamis Mushait, southwestern Saudi Arabia, with ballistic missiles and drones. RIA Novosti cited Reuters in reporting the claim.

The Associated Press said it could not independently verify the Houthi claim about Abha airport. The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted a ballistic missile headed toward Khamis Mushait.

The attacks on both sites therefore remain claims by the Houthis. The RIA Novosti report provided no information about damage or casualties.
