
Fragments of a second-floor ceiling fell near a classroom at Penza Medical College on the evening of Oct. 6. The regional Investigative Committee has opened a preliminary inquiry.
According to investigators, the collapse occurred on the building’s second floor. Investigators and forensic specialists are inspecting the scene and establishing the circumstances.
The inquiry is being conducted under Part 1 of Article 293 of the Russian Criminal Code, which concerns negligence. The statement describes a preliminary inquiry and does not say that a criminal case has been opened.
The regional Investigative Committee did not report any injuries. RIA Novosti cited the agency in its report.
