The former White House press secretary is returning to television after leaving her post in August, while also joining a pro-Trump political fundraising group.
Karoline Leavitt, a former White House press secretary and close ally of President Donald Trump, will join Fox News as a commentator and analyst on November 1, the network said Monday.
Leavitt said she was pleased to bring her experience as White House spokeswoman to the channel. She left the administration at the end of August, saying she wanted to focus on her family while continuing to promote the MAGA movement. She gave birth to her second child in the spring and had already appeared frequently on Fox News while in office.
At 28, Leavitt was the youngest person appointed to the highly visible role of White House press secretary. She became known for an aggressive communications strategy toward traditional media and for defending Trump’s agenda. The White House has not named a successor, and regular press briefings have not resumed since her departure.
Leavitt has also joined MAGA Inc., a pro-Trump super PAC involved in political fundraising. Her move to Fox News returns her to a network where she was a frequent guest during her government tenure.
The appointment comes amid continuing tensions between Trump and news organisations. Trump tried to bar CNN, MS Now and Politico from the White House, but a judge rejected the attempt. AFP reported her move, with the report carried by Agerpres.
