Kucherov sets Tampa Bay record for involvement in opening goals

The forward has now factored in 170 of the club's first goals in regular-season games, surpassing Vincent Lecavalier's mark.

The record came in a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Nikita Kucherov assisted Brayden Point's opening goal in the 17th minute.

Kucherov has now been involved in 170 of Tampa Bay's first goals in regular-season games, Komsomolskaya Pravda reported. Vincent Lecavalier previously held the club record with 169 such goals.

Kucherov also recorded a second assist, setting up Brandon Hagel's goal in the final minute. Pontus Holmberg and Ilya Mikheyev scored the Lightning's other goals. Tyson Foerster scored Philadelphia's only goal.
