The Interior Ministry’s media outlet says the man set up a workshop at an industrial plant and sold modified weapons.

Transport police in Novosibirsk arrested a 32-year-old man suspected of illegally converting signal pistols and selling the weapons, according to the Interior Ministry’s media outlet. Investigators say he took a job at an industrial plant and set up a workshop at his workplace, where he allegedly converted signal pistols into firearms and sold them.

Police detained him alongside a prospective buyer. Officers seized three modified signal pistols and equipment for cutting barrels. A forensic examination found that the weapons’ muzzle energy could cause serious bodily harm. The Interior Ministry published details of the case. The allegations and the suspect’s responsibility remain for the court to determine.
