Lionel Messi cried on the team bus travelling to the Monumental stadium for Argentina’s friendly against Benin. The match was expected to be his last in the national team jersey.

LN+ cameras filmed him at a bus window. As he greeted supporters gathered along the road, Messi took a piece of paper and wiped his tears. La Nación reported that hundreds of fans waited along the highway and some ran beside the bus to catch a glimpse of the players. The newspaper labelled its report as developing.
