Mishustin to discuss SCO freight platform at Dushanbe meeting

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation's Council of Heads of Government meeting in Dushanbe on October 19–20, the government press service said.

The heads of government will discuss trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation as the organisation marks 25 years since its creation. The agenda includes implementing agreements reached by national leaders in Bishkek on September 1 and the SCO development strategy through 2035.

According to the government, participants plan to adopt a concept for a common digital platform to manage multimodal overland freight transport. Another planned document would promote high-quality, sustainable international rail freight services among SCO member states.

The meeting's conclusions are expected to be set out in a joint communiqué.
