MOEX Index rises 1.09% at start of morning trading

The MOEX and RTS indices each gained 1.09% early in Monday's morning session. Interfax reported readings of 2452.64 and 923.98 respectively at 07:01 Moscow time.

Gazprom rose 4.1%, Novatek 3.6%, Surgutneftegas 3.4% and Alrosa 3.1%. X5 gained 2.4%, Polyus 2.3%, and Rosneft and Rusal each advanced 1.6%.

VK shares fell 0.4%. Inter RAO and both ordinary and preferred Sberbank shares lost 0.2%.

Oil futures retreated after gains late last week. At 07:01 Moscow time, December Brent was down 1.85% at $107.83 a barrel, while November WTI fell 1.12% to $100.27.
