Moscow region colleges schedule open day for Oct. 17

An open day for the Professionalitet programme will begin at 10am on Oct. 17 at 36 colleges and six university branches in the Moscow region, the regional Education Ministry said.

School pupils and parents will be offered practical career sessions, workshops and visits to employers. The programme starts with a nationwide classroom session explaining training opportunities and professional qualifications.

Parents’ meetings will include representatives of colleges and partner employers. Businesses will explain workplace training, further skills development and employment opportunities after graduation.

Noginsk College plans activities on Python game development, cybersecurity, networking and drone operation, alongside tours of laboratories and workshops.

Dmitrov Technical College will offer cooking workshops and dishes prepared by students using recipes from different Russian regions. Visitors will also be able to watch cooks at work.

Deputy Governor Lyudmila Bolatayeva said more than 145,000 students attend the region’s colleges. Professionalitet brings together 18 clusters across 12 industries, with employers participating in training. The open day is an opportunity to explore those courses, rather than a guarantee of admission or employment.
