Mysuru courts and city corporation hold cleanliness drive

The Judicial Department and Mysuru City Corporation cleaned two court complexes under the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign and unveiled a new municipal cleanliness logo.

The Judicial Department and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) held a cleanliness drive at the old court complex and the new court complex in Malalawadi, Jayanagar, on Friday. The event was part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.

Principal District and Sessions Judge B. Jayant Kumar led the drive. MCC Commissioner Savitha M.K., judges, court staff and members of the Mysuru Bar Association also took part. Jayant Kumar unveiled the corporation’s new logo, bearing the slogan “Clean Mysuru – Our Pride, Our Priority.” The MCC said it is intended to give the city’s cleanliness initiatives a distinct identity and raise awareness of sanitation.

Participants cleaned both court premises with the corporation’s vehicles and equipment, removed accumulated waste and took a cleanliness pledge. MCC sanitation workers, known locally as pourakarmikas, joined the programme.

The event also promoted the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, with emphasis on sorting waste where it is generated, scientific disposal and keeping public places clean. Organisers also highlighted residents’ role in protecting the environment.
