Niño’s stoppage-time goal earns Málaga a draw against Espanyol

Adrián Niño scored in stoppage time to earn Málaga a 1–1 draw against Espanyol on October 9. The visitors lost their lead in the closing moments of the eighth-round league match.
Bryan Zaragoza opened the scoring in the 13th minute. Espanyol led at halftime and remained ahead until Niño equalised in the third added minute. The substitute finished with his right foot after Rafita crossed into the penalty area.
The draw gave each team a point. Sport-Express reported that Espanyol finished the game with eight points and Málaga with four. Espanyol’s next league opponent is Atlético Madrid, while Málaga will face Real Sociedad. The late goal changed a prospective home defeat into a draw.
