Nissan to transfer Argentine distribution to SIMPA and Tagle groups

Nissan has signed final agreements to transfer distribution of its vehicles, parts and accessories in Argentina to the local SIMPA and Tagle groups. The company expects the handover to be completed by the end of 2026 while keeping the brand and customer services in the country.

The deal remains subject to conditions set out in the contracts. Once the handover is complete, SIMPA and Tagle will handle Nissan’s representation, brand management and product-range development. Nissan says it will continue selling vehicles in Argentina and providing after-sales service, warranties, spare parts and customer support. Its Nissan Plan de Ahorro and current dealer network will also remain in place.

Argentina will then join Nissan’s Importers Business Unit (NIBU), which manages more than 30 markets where the company operates through importers. Nissan Argentina President Ricardo Flammini called the agreements an important step in the evolution of the company’s business in the country.

The commercial transfer follows a restructuring of Nissan’s industrial operations in Argentina. In October 2025, the company ended production of the Frontier pickup at Renault’s plant in Santa Isabel, Córdoba province. Frontier and Renault Alaskan vehicles had been assembled there since 2018 under a joint project that involved about $600 million in investment. Since 2026, Frontier pickups for Latin American markets have been made at Nissan’s plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

LA NACION reported that the change is part of Nissan’s global programme to cut costs and improve efficiency. The distribution handover does not mean the brand is leaving Argentina.
