Dodgers leave Kim Hye-seong off NLCS roster to add a pitcher

The Los Angeles Dodgers left infielder Kim Hye-seong off their National League Championship Series roster, choosing an extra pitcher for the series against Milwaukee.

Left-hander Justin Wrobleski joined the 26-man squad, bringing the pitching staff to 13. The Dodgers had carried one fewer pitcher in the previous round against Atlanta, when Kim made one appearance as a defensive replacement.

Kim played 43 regular-season games this year, down from 71 in his rookie season in 2025. He spent much of the second half in the minors before returning to the major league club in late September. His batting average fell from 0.280 to 0.259, while his stolen-base total declined from 13 to five.

According to Yonhap, the decision leaves no South Korean player on an active roster in the remaining postseason. Atlanta shortstop Kim Ha-seong went hitless in five at-bats across four playoff games before the Braves were eliminated. San Diego utilityman Song Sung-mun did not make the Padres' postseason squad.
