Perm region declared drone alert after residents reported blasts

Residents of Perm reported sirens and loud sounds during a morning drone attack. Regional authorities said air defenses were responding; aviation restrictions were imposed.

Residents of Perm Krai reported loud blasts and sirens during a drone attack on the morning of Oct. 7. Lenta.ru cited the local outlet 59.RU. Authorities declared a drone alert, and Perm airport was temporarily closed under the “Carpet” plan.

Later, Governor Dmitry Makhonin said air defenses and mobile fire groups had shot down 12 drones over the region. Emergency services were working at debris sites, he said, adding that there were no casualties or damage.
