Yamal region sets 1 million-ruble reward for each drone destroyed

Mobile fire teams in the region will receive 1 million rubles for each drone brought down. The payment will be divided equally among team members.

Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area Governor Dmitry Artyukhov has signed a decree establishing payments for mobile fire teams that destroy drones. The payment is 1 million rubles for each drone brought down and will be divided equally among the team members.

The decree also provides payments to reservists who have signed contracts to serve in the Russian Armed Forces’ mobilization reserve and take part in protecting critical facilities in the region. For each month of training, employed reservists will receive 100,000 rubles and those without jobs 150,000 rubles.

RBC reported that on Sept. 9 drone debris fell on a fuel and energy facility in Novy Urengoy. Regional authorities have since repeatedly declared a drone threat. In September, flight restrictions were imposed at the airports of Nadym, Novy Urengoy, Sabetta and Utrenny.
