Saudi authorities report three deaths in Riyadh airport attacks

Saudi aviation authorities said on October 9 that three Saudi citizens, including a pilot, were killed in two attacks on Riyadh's airport and a Saudia aircraft the previous day.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation said the first attack targeted King Khalid International Airport facilities and the second struck an aircraft. Several people were injured. Saudia confirmed a pilot's death and damage to a plane.
The aviation authority did not identify those responsible in its statement. Yemen's Houthis claimed to have targeted the airport. The group's claim is distinct from an attribution by the aviation regulator.
Airport operations subsequently resumed, authorities said. The three deaths in this announcement concern the October 8 attacks. The source separately describes earlier strikes on Abha and Riyadh airports that also killed three people and injured 36.
India's embassy in Riyadh advised citizens to remain vigilant and follow local authorities' instructions. It said the embassy and the consulate in Jeddah continued operating normally.
