Polish radars did not confirm suspected drone crossing into Lithuania
Poland's radar systems did not confirm that an object provisionally identified by Lithuanian authorities as a drone crossed the border from Poland, defence ministry spokesman Janusz Sejmej said on October 18.
Sejmej told the Polish Press Agency that there was no radar confirmation of such a crossing in the Lithuanian direction. He added that Poland remained in contact with Lithuania.
Earlier, Lithuanian Defence Minister Robertas Kaunas said an unidentified object had entered the country's airspace and disappeared from radar in the north. His preliminary assessment was that it had arrived from Poland.
Kaunas asked his Polish counterpart to assist in a joint investigation. Lithuania's National Crisis Management Centre said NATO fighter aircraft had been scrambled in response to the object.
