Polyplast exits Lada ownership group as governor pledges funding continuity

Polyplast has left the ownership group of hockey club Lada. Samara region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said its stake would return to the regional government and the team's approved funding would remain in place.
Fedorishchev cited changed economic conditions as the reason for the company's departure. He announced the decision on October 9 through the MAX messaging service. According to the governor, the ownership change does not alter the club's previously approved budget.
AvtoVAZ remains a strategic partner of the team. Regional authorities are also working to bring additional partners into Lada. The governor's published remarks did not identify new participants or additional funding amounts.
Polyplast had worked with the club since 2025. RIA Novosti dates the strategic partnership to May. The company's exit changes the club's ownership structure rather than announcing an end to its operations.
The announcement followed a difficult start to the season. At the time of the October 9 report, Lada had five points from 13 games and stood tenth in the KHL's Western Conference. Those figures describe the position when the announcement was made, rather than the current standings.
Polyplast subsequently confirmed its departure in a statement reported by sports media on October 10. It thanked the regional government and supporters for their joint work, without adding further terms for the transfer of its stake in the cited statement.
