Prosecutors investigate living conditions of four children in Kostroma district
Prosecutors in Russia’s Kostroma region have opened an inquiry following reports that four children in Kostroma district were not receiving adequate care, the regional prosecutor’s office said.
The inquiry followed a social media post whose author alleged that the girls were living in a house without running water and were not receiving medical care they needed. The allegations prompted the supervisory inquiry.
Prosecutors will assess the actions of child neglect prevention agencies and guardianship authorities, including whether they identified the family’s reported difficulties promptly.
