Punjab chief minister receives UN-Habitat award for housing programme

Maryam Nawaz accepted the Scroll of Honour in Muscat for the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar project.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz received the UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour for the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar housing programme at a World Habitat Day ceremony held in Muscat on October 6.

Dawn reported that Nawaz was invited to Oman as a state guest. She dedicated the award to people who have built homes through the programme. Only five selected countries from around the world received the UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour this year.

Other recipients included Htoo Weng of Myanmar, Thiago Baurmann Gubert of Brazil, Abdelmalek Ghanem of Tunisia and London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
