The party's final seat count and influence in the National Assembly could shift as two contests remain tight.
Québec Solidaire (QS) elected 9 members to Quebec's National Assembly, Radio-Canada reported, while two riding races remained close. The party had 11 seats before the election, and the final size of its caucus was not yet settled.
Co-spokesperson Ruba Ghazal addressed supporters at Club Soda in Montreal and said, “We resisted.” She acknowledged that Quebec's political climate had shifted to the right, but argued that progressive and left-wing forces remained alive. Ghazal was re-elected in the riding of Mercier.
QS supports Quebec sovereignty. Ghazal described the party's project as building a country that leaves no one behind, including Indigenous people, English-speaking residents and immigrants. The party's influence in the legislature will depend on the final results and the distribution of seats among the parties.
