After Atlético Tucumán beat Talleres 2-0 in the 12th round of the Torneo Proyección, Talleres coach Rodrigo Acosta and his brother Lautaro were among those involved in a fight, La Nación reported.
The reserve sides met at the José Salmoiraghi complex in the 12th round of the Torneo Proyección. After Atlético Tucumán won 2-0, a fight broke out near the pitch involving members of Talleres’ coaching staff and people behind the perimeter fence. LPF Play’s official broadcast captured the disturbance.
Footage showed Talleres coach Rodrigo Acosta and his brother Lautaro, a former Lanús player and member of the staff, arguing with relatives and associates of Atlético Tucumán. During the clash, Lautaro, also known as Laucha, punched a man who fell to the ground. Others tried to separate them. The argument then moved toward the dressing rooms, where it continued verbally without further violence. Talleres players stepped in and led the Acosta brothers away, although both tried to return to the dispute.
Tensions had been building during the game. Referee Valentín Ibáñez Mesa sent off Joaquín Soria in the fourth minute and Daniel Ribera in the 44th. Ribera was dismissed after a verbal exchange, according to the referee. Talleres therefore played the entire second half with nine players. The club said the wrong player was sent off in the first incident: it said Joaquín Salas committed the foul, but another Joaquín was dismissed. Lucas García and Martín Núñez were the assistant referees. Rodrigo and Lautaro Acosta also received red cards at halftime after protesting the officiating.
Two minutes into the second half, Ibáñez awarded Talleres a penalty. The team’s No. 10, Jeremías Gallardo, sent his shot over the crossbar. Atlético’s first goal was also disputed. Germán Vallejo’s shot hit the crossbar and bounced near the line before returning to the field. The broadcast footage did not clearly establish whether the whole ball crossed the line, but the referee allowed the goal. After Gabriel Abeldaño scored Atlético’s second, the home players celebrated in front of a Talleres player, sparking another rise in tension.
The result was overshadowed by the fight near the pitch. A reserve-league fixture ended with scenes of violence involving members of Talleres’ coaching staff.
