Russia’s digital ministry says 5G services operate in 36 cities
Fifth-generation mobile services are available to residents of 36 Russian cities, Deputy Digital Development Minister Dmitry Ugnivenko said at the Spektr forum, according to RIA Novosti.
The rollout uses base-station equipment already installed by operators, he said. The approach has been agreed with the industry and security regulators.
Ugnivenko said the equipment would subsequently be replaced in stages with domestically produced equipment, the Prime news agency reported.
