Russia to index more than 40 social benefits from Feb. 1, 2027

The payments will be adjusted in line with actual inflation, Labor Minister Anton Kotyakov said. He also outlined a two-stage increase in insurance pensions.

Pensions are due to rise by 6.8% on Feb. 1, followed by a further 3.3% increase on April 1. The changes will affect about 37.5 million people, Kotyakov said in a strategic report at the 11th All-Russian Occupational Safety Week in Sochi.

The minister also said maternity capital for a family’s second child would exceed 1 million rubles if the family had not received the benefit before. The subsistence minimum and benefits tied to it will also be adjusted in line with inflation.

The occupational safety week is being held on the federal territory of Sirius from Oct. 7 to 10. Its main theme is the use of socially oriented technologies to achieve national goals.

Earlier in October, the Finance Ministry said insurance pensions would be indexed in two stages in 2027. The draft budget provides for increases of 6.8% in February and a further 3.3% in April. More than 40 other benefits and payments are separately planned for indexation from Feb. 1 in line with actual inflation.
