The Ushkuynik research and production centre has developed navigation devices that can suppress up to 16 jamming channels at once, its director Alexei Chadaev told RIA Novosti. He said earlier devices could handle no more than 12.
Chadaev said the devices are designed for use on unmanned aerial vehicles and maritime drones. He added that they could also be used in civilian settings because radio-electronic interference is widespread.
The centre’s director said developers aim to raise the number of channels handled simultaneously without making the devices prohibitively expensive. He described the goal as achieving an economically viable balance between production costs and use.
Chadaev also gave his own assessment of the effectiveness of the Knyaz Vandal Novgorodsky drone, saying the ratio of costs to damage was 1 to 40. RIA Novosti did not provide an independent assessment of those figures. The centre presents its approach as competition based on cost-effectiveness.
