Russian regions report to Novak on fuel supplies and filling-station measures

Russian regional leaders reported to Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak on fuel supplies, filling-station operations and additional measures to meet demand on October 13. The meeting formed part of efforts to stabilise the domestic fuel market.
According to the government, specific responses to violations and price fluctuations were discussed for Lipetsk and Kirov regions and the republic of Tuva.
Participants also examined conditions in Orenburg, Kemerovo and Arkhangelsk regions, Altai and Kamchatka territories, Kabardino-Balkaria and Khakassia. The list identifies areas discussed at the meeting, rather than establishing that all face identical problems.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service reported 67 cases and 99 warnings over fuel-market violations. Regional authorities and independent filling stations have signed 94 price-management agreements.
Following the meeting, Novak instructed agencies and companies to step up regional fuel supplies and respond to unjustified price increases, the government’s press service said.
