Russian serviceman says maps found near Hlubokove aided unit operations

On October 7, RIA Novosti published an account by a Russian serviceman using the call sign Boatswain about information found at Ukrainian positions near Hlubokove in the Zaporizhzhia region.

According to the senior rifleman with the Vostok group of forces, troops found tablets containing maps, sketches and mobile phones at the positions. The agency’s source said the materials contained information about the locations of various sites, including temporary deployment points and drone launch locations.

Boatswain told RIA Novosti that the intelligence materials were passed to senior group commanders. According to his account, the coordinates were then used in subsequent operations. The agency quoted him as saying the information had been a significant help in actions near Hlubokove.
