Russian figure skaters flew from Moscow to Almaty for the Denis Ten Memorial after a delay of 1 hour and 36 minutes. The flight was scheduled to depart at 9:40 a.m. Moscow time but left Sheremetyevo at 11:16 a.m. The delegation included senior and junior athletes.
Women’s singles skaters Alexandra Ignatova, formerly known as Trusova, Maria Zakharova and Dina Khusnutdinova were on the trip. Russia’s ice-dance teams are Vasilisa Kaganovskaya and Maxim Nekrasov, Irina Khavronina and Devid Naryzhny, and Anna Shcherbakova and Egor Goncharov.
The junior delegation includes singles skaters Victoria Streltsova, Alena Prineva and Alisa Zaikina. In pairs, Maria Fefelova and Artem Valov, and Daria Drozhzhina and Ivan Telnov are scheduled to compete.
The Denis Ten Memorial Challenge is scheduled to take place in Almaty from Oct. 7 to 10. Sport-Express reported the flight delay, citing TASS.
