Spartak Kostroma beat Chelyabinsk to advance in Russian Cup

Spartak Kostroma defeated Chelyabinsk 1-0 on Oct. 13 to reach the sixth round of the Russian Cup’s Regions Path. The match was played at Shinnik Stadium in Yaroslavl.

Dimitriy Gurtskaya scored the only goal in the 48th minute. Match reporting credited David Karayev with the assist.

The Russian Football Union’s official record confirms the final score and venue. Although Spartak were the nominal home team, the match took place in Yaroslavl rather than Kostroma.

The official event list records red cards for Spartak players Vladislav Kamilov and David Karayev and Chelyabinsk defender Khetag Kochiyev late in the game.

The result ends Chelyabinsk’s participation in this tie and sends Spartak into the next round.
