Tambiev blames Dynamo’s slump on lack of confidence after mistakes

Leonid Tambiev, head coach of Dynamo Moscow, said after a 3-2 loss to Shanghai Dragons that his team loses confidence after individual mistakes. It was Dynamo’s fifth consecutive defeat in the KHL regular season.

Tambiev said the second goal conceded was a turning point. He said Dynamo looked shaken in the third period, though the players later managed to regroup. After one poor decision, he added, the team begins to doubt itself.

The coach singled out a mistake by defenceman Shen, saying the player was upset about it himself. “The game is made up of mistakes, but I wish we had fewer of those simple mistakes,” the KHL press service quoted him as saying.

Dynamo have lost seven of their last eight games and have 12 points, leaving them ninth in the Western Conference standings. Shanghai Dragons won the game 3-2.
