Ten-man Freiburg beat Schalke to top Bundesliga table

Freiburg beat Schalke 2-1 at home in the Bundesliga's fifth round on October 11. Keisuke Goto scored the winner in the 85th minute while the hosts were down to ten men.

Maximilian Eggestein opened the scoring in the tenth minute. Adrian Gantenbein equalised in the 30th, leaving the sides level at the interval.

Yuito Suzuki received his second yellow card in the 64th minute. Goto came on in the 83rd and soon headed in Vincenzo Grifo's cross.

The victory took Freiburg to 13 points and first place. Schalke remained on five points. Gantenbein and Goto each scored their first Bundesliga goal, according to the league's official report.
